and selfishness
will birth a quiet beast
dressed in holy garments
ready to
“save you”

questions will go
unanswered
“solutions”
will be
mildly imposed
community will be forsaken

and humanity
like fools led to the slaughter
will embrace this beast’s
oppressive measures
comfortable
in the illusion of
action and safety

and in that moment
freedom will suffer
another deadly blow
another
forced vaccination
against sanity and individualism

how many more wounds
can this fragile
human spirit
endure
before the light
blows itself out?
