it’s just a moment
brief, singular
how to tell
what it means
chances are random
and infinite
like a strangers
at a party
loud, mixing conversation
with sweat
and uncertain glances
the eyes, they pierce me
the smile, it calls me
conversations, expectations
and secret fantasies
you’re never quite sure
so…
I wait, perched
on the edge of anticipation
sitting here or there
drunk
I can see the future
and blur the past
as
my fingers crawl
over this keyboard
waiting to strike
waiting, for that moment
when bodies dance
in the minds eye
