\nwords like dreams
\ndreams that don’t last
\nand the last
\nis almost like the first
\ncursed and dispersed
\nimmersed and rehearsed
\nto the point of \u0010a subtle outburst<\/p>\n

cast overboard but in for the long haul
\nlove is just a hard wired illusion
\ndriven by an unholy biology<\/p>\n

trinity, affinity
\ntrending toward
\na satirical and reversed infinity
\nbaby i’m the man in black
\nsitting in this persistent flashback
\nsurrounded by the soundtrack
\nof tired manifestation<\/p>\n

fuck these crossed wires
\nand fuck this distant communication
\ninstead let’s raise a heavy glass
\ncuz it’s time for whiskey
\nand it’s time to die again<\/p>\n

dangerous puppet
\nwe is i
\nand i is we
\nand we are nomads,
\ndecadent priests of a limited shuffle
\nbound to creativity by cosmic glue<\/p>\n

bored, broken, and reckless
\nwe distill denial
\nand frustrated energy
\ninto a refuge of temporary satisfaction
\nand there is redemption
\nin these malfunctioning memories
\nwhat could have been
\nwhat should have been
\nalmost perfect
\nbut not quite
\nabsent of skillful reflection
\nwe laugh at these graveyard scripts
\nwritten in the callous verse of slavery<\/p>\n

born as nuclear peasants
\nwe romanticize rebellion
\nand selfish blues
\nas we feast on elastic horizons<\/p>\n

dry keys, wet life
\nrepetitive and randomly magnificent
\nset in tones of majestic insanity
\nwe grasp the throat
\nand whisper wandering secrets
\nin the heat of passion
\nsometimes it’s bullshit
\nsometimes it’s not<\/p>\n

labored and yearning
\nwe regret songs unsung
\nso let’s dispel
\nthese crippled encounters
\nand fade into the hysteria
\nof ironic luxury<\/p>\n

sedated and captured
\nlike a curios criminal machine
\nwe are tempted and unwritten
\nand these threads are false and fraying
\nas we raise a delicate sacrifice
\nof saddened soul and spirit
\nto relaxed and dying gods<\/p>\n

hopeless flash
\none more night of empty entertainment
\nwe’re all consumers of soft stars
\nthat hang passive and feral
\non this deranged stage
\nof anxious moderation<\/p>\n

one last beautiful disruption
\nswift in the void
\nand hard of heart
\ntempered by cold reason
\nwe slow the pulse
\nand soothe this wailing mind
\ntrying in vain to compose
\nweak and honest poetry
\nas that heavy glass slowly empties<\/p>\n
