black pants
\nblack socks
\nblack shirts<\/p>\n

sometimes it’s so easy to hide
\nunder this muted cover
\nof sheltered darkness
\nand sometimes when i hear you spew
\nyour complacent propaganda
\ni want to liberate
\nor kill you all<\/p>\n

so i drink
\nand smoke
\nand fuck
\na lot
\nbut god still loves me
\nor at least
\nthat’s what i’m told<\/p>\n

defiant in this radio consciousness
\ni gather solid stars
\nand store them in my back pocket,
\nspare change for better days
\nslightly depressed
\nyet charged buy the sun
\ni wear this whiskey face
\nand laugh at all these common absurdities
\nbut sometimes while on my
\nmystic and solitary head trips
\ni just can’t endure the thought
\nof these easy conversations
\nsoft answers
\nand even softer questions
\nthat sort of emptiness
\nfuels my frustration
\nas my anarchist tendencies
\nscream for rebellion
\nand swim violently
\nto break the surface
\nof all your anonymous personalities<\/p>\n

partially struck dumb
\nremembering our possible pasts’
\nand whispering innocuous songs
\ni’m an accomplished slave
\nbut i never forget
\nthese chaotic enchantments
\nthat drive me towards divine living
\nand it kills me slowly
\nto know that nothing is real
\nexcept for that close contact
\nof opposite and contradicting polarities
\nskin on skin, meditative massages
\nand spiritual connections
\nso many souls, so little time
\nand there’s just too much nonsense
\nfor such a small space
\noften i retire
\nto the solace of drink,
\nrighteous music,
\nand solitary poetry<\/p>\n

drifting into the comforting silence
\nof another entangled night
\nlike dried roses
\ncaressing the razor’s edge
\ni often wonder
\nare we just waiting
\nfor the bomb to drop?
\nnah, fuck this self abuse
\ni’m gonna keep riding
\nthat silver pendulum
\nand practice playful chants
\nof beautiful chaos<\/p>\n

and i love howling
\nat paper moons
\nit’s such an obscure
\nand simple existence
\ncomplicated and frustrated
\ni write white answers
\nto black questions
\ntrying forget
\nthe ghosts of past holidays
\nruled by homeless passion
\nand poorly trained thrills
\nbut i’m running out of places
\nto store this heavy disbelief<\/p>\n

ahh but these cigarettes,
\nmid grade whiskey,
\nand the melodic tones of
\nnine inch nails
\ncarry me from fright
\nto heightened levels
\nof damaged content<\/p>\n

i could sit here
\nfor eternity
\nbut what’s the point
\ni have to remember
\nmy angry backyard rants
\nlighting distant fires
\nof black and gold emotion
\nflush in filthy contrast
\nas i pray to
\nbare and forgetful gods
\nfor green poems of rebirth
\nand a minuscule measure
\nof open tranquility<\/p>\n
