I
\nstrangers of outdated temptation
\nhopping along
\non a two heart moon
\nall our secrets are naive
\nand beg for an insane discourse
\nwe hold our cards close
\nand pray to all the wrong gods
\nsolid and delicate we wander
\nthrough digital fields
\nof glazed boredom
\nchasing ones and zeroes
\nas humanity lingers on life support
\nsometimes i feel like we’re all just
\nunsuspecting puppets
\nserving schizophrenic princes
\nand perched on the edge of
\na never-ending joke<\/p>\n

strange mind, corpse mind, no mind
\nwar and peace
\ntruth and fiction
\nprosperity and poverty
\nwhite walls and grey floors
\nliving for nothing
\nand running on heavy disbelief
\ni gotta tell ya
\nbeing positive all the time
\nis exhausting
\npurged and on parole
\nsometimes the stars fall
\nand even our best illusions
\nare effortlessly shattered
\nwill these convicted souls
\never be granted a small reprieve<\/p>\n

the masses have given in
\nand the magic is fading
\nwhat happened to enchantment?
\nis it all just
\nblack flowers and empty boxes
\nif all our simple miracles
\nare bled dry
\nwhat do we have left?
\nlet us pray to the gods of
\nfractured reflections
\nand contested currents
\nfor one more moment of
\nnatural consequence<\/p>\n

II<\/p>\n

if i don’t create
\ni don’t exist
\ni want to
\nbind these soft poems in iron
\nbut there’s no danger today
\njust dry indifference
\nignoring these telephone dreams
\ni’m sweeping this solid summer love
\nunder a carpet of starving
\nand salvaged sequences
\ni’m trying to break
\nthese feeble habits
\nof reality glamour death
\nsetting sarcastic fires
\nto burn these outdated shadows
\ni’m alerted to sacred seasons
\nof modular imagination
\nas i seek enduring minds
\nthat dance between the raindrops
\nand preach peaceful sidewalk wisdom<\/p>\n

the bulls are charging toward
\nour collective
\nand cosmic indifference
\nso forget this fearful symmetry
\nand strike up labored violins
\ncoupled with a composition
\nof rusty guns
\nin the production
\nthat seeks destruction
\nof walking dead symphonies<\/p>\n

lets burn the sun together
\nand start this revolution with a kiss
\nlet’s spawn a new system of value
\ncasting yellow and black spells
\nover cauldrons of chaos
\ncalibrating this unbalanced narrative
\ninto something authentic
\ni’m tired of waiting for a crazy finish
\nit’s only treason
\nif you play their game
\nand that game is boring
\ni prefer games with rules
\nthat beg to be broken<\/p>\n
