ahh summer nights
\ntoo hot to sleep
\ntoo hot to dream
\nit’s too fucking hot to write
\nyet here i am
\nsitting in front of a loud
\nand ineffectual fan
\nsipping warm whiskey
\nsmoking my last cigarette
\nand conducting desperate rituals
\nunder the pale light of this familiar screen
\ni shot for the moon
\nand missed by a stubborn blue mile
\ni’m a soft pirate
\ncreative and neglected
\ntrying to capture the hearts
\nof liberated machine creatures
\ni want to wander this simulated wilderness
\ndriving mad under rich grey skies
\nin search of erotic mystery
\nand unusual adventures
\nbut smooth poetry is a lie
\nreal life is much more coarse
\nlike grazing on sharp grass
\nwith rough beasts
\nand though i preach that hippy light and love
\ni’ve been called a dick more than once
\ni’m crafted from spiritual waste
\nand i’m sick of this one way game
\ni’m anxious and complacent at the same time
\ni want glorious copulations
\nin a dubious garden of luscious independence
\nfloating nude, slow and righteous
\nunder a multitude of muted stars
\nwith sixty-six rounds of lust
\ngrasping quiet limbs
\nand waiting for the next
\nagnostic, cosmic vibration
\nconfused and spitting slow profanities
\nand prophetic illusions
\nwe reach for lingering affairs of submission
\nand those who are truly insane
\nchoose to forget the mental relics
\nthat define our papier-m\u00e2ch\u00e9 souls<\/p>\n
