spellbound and phased (out)
\nwith tired eyes
\nand endless days
\nwe give up smooth emotion
\nto burn quiet misery
\nand i can’t stand
\nthe insanity of still hands
\nroaming down
\nthis one way street
\ninfused
\nby cryptic cues
\ncreeping upon these
\nnarrow and static curfews<\/p>\n

such a silly kitten
\nlingering on love
\nand distractions of the lowest order
\ni guess i’ll submit
\nto this distant peace
\nviewed as a special slave
\nand fueled by symbols
\nof starving stability
\nthat feed cold brains
\nand like a swollen prophet
\nor dime store poet
\ni\u2019m intimate and stationary
\nmarked and empty
\narranged in a terrible routine
\nonly to be reborn in the number three
\ncrying louder
\nthan the bleached sound
\nof harsh teeth
\ngnawing on the winds of winter<\/p>\n

ugly and accelerated
\ntowards this opportunity
\nof lonely perfection
\nwe ravage wandering reflections
\nand spend just enough time sleeping
\nto remain sane
\ndancing between glass backgrounds
\nand a tainted flame
\nso don’t speak of failure
\ncrack another beer
\nlight another cigarette
\nand grant me one last adventure
\nbonded together
\nafter a soulless retreat
\nas silent breaths breed
\na million and one
\nlonging heartbeats<\/p>\n
