toenail, toothache
\ntumbler, tomfoolery
\ntechnicalities, tournaments
\nand tragedy<\/p>\n

seven words
\nsummoned at random
\nwriting for no reason in particular
\nthe pens are always empty
\nand without power
\nthis machine(man)is useless<\/p>\n

somewhere along the line
\nthe magic
\nthat mapped the mind
\ndied
\nand there are no
\nmiracle cures
\nas lost silhouettes
\nplan one final hustle<\/p>\n

sometimes i wonder
\nwhat a blue rhapsody feels like?
\nis it soft and full
\nor short and jagged?<\/p>\n

broken down and ready for
\na drastic wager
\nit’s time
\nto stop
\nwasting time
\nand i know
\ni should quit smoking,
\nquit drinking,
\nget in shape,
\nand prepare
\nfor the inevitable war<\/p>\n

swept up by illusions
\nof sanitary sanity
\nin a shared virtual space
\nand contemplating the end of the world
\nat odd hours
\ni’m redirected by the 6th glitch
\nand reminded of the moon
\nso clear and unforgiving<\/p>\n

what is the meaning of
\nall this catatonic nonsense?
\nmisspelled
\nin our collective
\nsocial dream
\nwe are covered with curious complements
\nbut rarely rewarded with dignity
\nand culture always captures
\nstubborn and naive perceptions
\nyet sometimes i feel
\nthe gods are training us
\nfor something more
\nthan this pointless cycle
\nof smooth bounties
\nand endless consumption<\/p>\n

i had a dream last night
\nand in it, familiar friends
\ni’ve never actually met
\nwere seeking to return
\nand we were all waiting
\nfor summer signs
\nof rebellion and creativity<\/p>\n

interrupted by heavy belief
\ni watch a calypso cannibal
\nlying quietly to the side of the road
\nwhile majestic bums
\nutter homeless sorcery
\nwith an elastic cough
\nin hopes of discovering the secret
\nof quiet immortality <\/p>\n

so drink the wine
\nand fire the guns
\ncause good times and bad
\ncontinue to live
\nin arrested memories<\/p>\n

this thing called art
\nconstantly dies
\nonly to be reborn
\nand i wonder
\nwhy is the thunder
\nalways so misunderstood?
