\nnew years (morning?)
\nstill feels
\nlike old years
\nstained with nicotine
\nand spiritual indifference
\ni’m struggling to compose
\nour inevitable resolutions<\/p>\n

swept up in a
\nbeer and bourbon haze
\nand scattered along
\nrhythmic distortions
\nwith toilet bowls
\nthat resemble
\nastrological signs
\nthe cats that are never satisfied
\nand a soft sadness looms<\/p>\n

tonight the gods grant no favors
\nto members of the lost tribe<\/p>\n

damn these rough and uncertain
\nstrangers
\nconfined and waiting
\nfor better days
\nwhat\u00a0 have they done to us?<\/p>\n

not much time left
\nto script
\nthis new
\n(ab)normal
\nand they say
\nthe end
\nis just a new
\nbeginning
\nbut i find myself
\ncaptivated
\nby the spirit of
\ntired resistance<\/p>\n

everything seems
\nunruly
\nand i can’t seem to find
\nthat sacred center of balance
\nor the words to write
\nthis innocuous reality
\ninto a satisfactory perfection<\/p>\n
