\nalways present
\nforget this wholesome tragedy
\nmapped to the wrong side
\nof a tangent page
\nwe eat, we drink
\nwe fuck, we sleep
\nand work is often
\njust an afterthought<\/p>\n

new beginnings often taste
\nlike rusted endings
\nperhaps it’s just fiction
\nfeeding on another
\nforensic holiday
\nor maybe we’re just organized
\nin a disorganized way?<\/p>\n

closed down and ready
\nfor another circular day
\nit’s a slow roll
\ntowards nothing special
\nhow is it that we recite
\nthese stolen spells
\nbefore scurrying back
\nto our many pointless routines?<\/p>\n

curse this predictive programming
\nwatching humanity slowly drift
\ninto a sedated form of mental slavery
\ni want them to resist this scamdemic
\nbut i’m tired of writing this graveyard cast
\nwill you help me fight this dusty decay
\ni don’t have any secret treasures
\nor machine washed medications to offer
\njust fractured poems
\nwritten by candlelight
\nso send me a quiet reminder
\nof better days<\/p>\n

the newspapers preach
\nanesthetized and desensitized
\ncompassion
\ndull and deceptive
\nwith blisters like broken rose petals
\nand there\u2019s a hole in the sky
\nno sun, no moon, no stars
\njust shadows that resemble
\ncalypso cats
\ncaught
\nin a curious eclipse<\/p>\n

so don’t reboot the soul
\nreinvent it,
\nlive slightly out of phase
\nand stretch beyond this beautiful disaster
\ntowards absolute freedom
\nembrace elusive emotions
\nand create floods
\nof salacious spirituality
\nto drown the living dead<\/p>\n

fuck this quiet isolation
\nfuck this respectable seclusion
\nthe common good is just
\nanother selfish illusion<\/p>\n

in muted circles let us pray
\nthat the old gods spit
\non this preposterous notion of
\n“the new normal”
\ngranting us garage day celebrations
\nas we discard our delicate dispositions
\nin favor of twisted tactics
\nto turn the tide<\/p>\n

purge belief
\nand with any luck
\nwe’ll roll with thunder
\nenjoying one more novel dream
\nbefore we finally hit the road<\/p>\n
