sometimes the wait
\nseems worthless
\nas cold hard mornings
\ntransform into
\ncold hard evenings
\ntapped out
\nand ready to give in
\nthe monster has no teeth
\nbut neither do you<\/p>\n

damn this impervious stalemate
\nglories and failures
\nare one in the same
\nas we are constantly hypnotized
\nby beautiful misdirection
\nare we all just robots
\ndreaming in slow motion?<\/p>\n

frozen opportunity
\ndraped in prozac finery
\nand dancing
\nlike impossible cartoons
\nit’s strange
\nhow the slow songs
\nof haunted birds
\ncan kick us in the balls
\nand force us
\nto part ways with reason<\/p>\n

what do we do
\nwhen wild words have left us starving
\nand craving something more
\nthan this preoccupied
\nand perpetual domination<\/p>\n

forget misfortune
\nand the dawn of instinctual escape<\/p>\n

sometimes all you can do
\nis sleep
\nwith one eye open
\nand remember that
\nmagic takes hold
\nat the strangest of moments<\/p>\n
