shed this profane and mortal shell
\nlet us speak no more
\nof complicated circumstances
\nand incomplete emotions
\nthat signal a visage
\nof salted salvation<\/p>\n

nomadic and demystified
\nthe leftover light
\nof lucifer’s tragic song
\nguides us toward
\nthe simple pleasures
\nof this calculated craft
\nas we write
\nsadistic concertos
\nwith the grammar of
\nimperfect immortality
\nremembering backyard bunker dreams
\nand television history
\nthat could reset
\nall our failed adventures<\/p>\n

thank the forgotten gods
\nthat we have the crooked guidance
\nof a soft right hand
\nand golden cat kisses
\nto redeem our dry souls<\/p>\n

pray and lead us away
\nfrom a complacent and content image
\nof self serving satisfaction<\/p>\n

i’m angry and sad
\nthat this manufactured virus
\nhas decimated
\nour collective chaos
\nand divided our cathartic symphony
\nhow can we hope to redeem
\nthis bipolar congregation
\nwhen paths are spilt
\nalong misguided lines of communication<\/p>\n

nothing is black and white
\nshades of grey
\ndefine our rainbow existence
\nand harsh emotion
\ncoupled with smooth poetry
\nslow the progression
\nof apathetic cancer
\nalleviating our hardened hearts<\/p>\n

how to reduce this stereo confusion?
\nshould i attempt to write
\ntwenty or thirty
\ndead orchid poems
\nthat speak only to lonely hearts
\nor should i seek to enhance
\nthis watered down meme culture?
\nshould i wear familiar
\nbandanas covering grey beards
\nof withered wisdom
\nor should i seek to lead the children
\nto undiscovered forms of r(E)volution ?
\nand if i did
\nwould they understand
\nthat these antiquated words
\ncould offer the promise of something new
\nsomething different, that lasts beyond
\nthe next social media trend<\/p>\n

often times i find myself longing for
\nthat old and familiar warped scenery
\na getaway garden
\nof quiet and sincere gibberish
\nunsullied with the occupation of anxiety
\nbut, the hour is getting late
\nand the glass is almost empty
\nhumanity breathes it’s labored breaths
\nand i wonder how long
\ncan this grand memory endure?<\/p>\n
