quick cats
\nsoft in their multicolored finery
\nhold court with
\nshadows of another dusty evening
\nhow they jump towards
\nold favor
\nand dance
\nupside down at a moments notice<\/p>\n

it’s hump day (though no luck here)
\nand i’m listening to
\nDead bootlegs from 1978
\nwith a slim beer
\nand grey cigarettes
\nas miniature fans
\nhold the tone
\nand i’m
\nbored to the bone
\nthat’s why i’m
\nwriting this absurd and delicious tale<\/p>\n

i’ve decided that
\ndrunk or sober
\nmorning or night
\ni must write
\nat least once a day
\nsomething to keep the gloom
\nat bay<\/p>\n

though i must admit
\ni like writing more
\nat night
\nslightly buzzed
\nit may not be as literary
\nbut it’s fun<\/p>\n

the fingers flow over the keys much easier
\nand isn’t that what it’s all about?<\/p>\n

i just finished another beer
\nand my new kitten
\nis wreaking havoc in the kitchen (good for her)
\nit’s strange to be up so late
\ndrinking and writing
\nwhen i know that
\ni must rise
\nso unreasonably early for work
\nohh well
\nthat’s what makes this life interesting
\nright?
\na challenge against the standard day<\/p>\n

the world is so fucked
\nand i’ve come to the point
\nwhere i just don’t care
\nhumanity seeks slavery
\nwhile i seek liberation
\npoetry can be anything
\nyou want it to be
\nand for me
\nit’s simply a means to
\nconverse with myself
\nand hope
\nthat someday you’ll understand<\/p>\n

this is a new phase for me
\nrapture and redemption
\nrolled into a juicy
\nfirecracker of unkempt time
\nit’s all speculative and relative
\nit means nothing
\nand everything
\nit’s hollow
\nyet whole
\nseeking strings of the universe
\nand fading toward a quiet end<\/p>\n

perhaps we’re all crazy
\nbut is there anything more beautiful
\nthan uncensored human frailty?
\nperhaps there is
\nbut at this moment
\nall that matters
\nis the word<\/p>\n

so….
\ncheers from the haven
\nof another lonely and blissful night
\ni love you all<\/p>\n
