\nno chance
\ndancing with insecurity
\nas this repulsive harmony
\nshades the soul
\nas the sun gives way to the moon
\nand days are overcome by nights
\nas the colors rise and fall
\nand the poems get written (badly)
\nas the sink continues to drip
\nforming an insane rhythm
\nand the cat continues to prowl
\nthese shallow and repetitive territories<\/p>\n

impulsive, we wander back roads
\nlooking for a crazy form of mercy
\nbut the stars won’t guide us tonight
\nnomadic notebooks
\nshape square thoughts
\nin this breathless morning
\nas we melt into a quiet tempest
\nremembering images within the storm<\/p>\n

visions are paused
\nas we delicately reconstruct
\nour savaged heroes
\ncan we reconcile
\nall these dirty patterns
\nas we write secrets in the open<\/p>\n

still minds burn mysterious
\nand erased from racist shores
\nas we sit scarred and idle,
\ntyping with one hand<\/p>\n

paper hearts and stolen arts
\necho for release
\nas roots and rivers
\nmount turbulent transmissions
\nof defiant disconnection<\/p>\n

have you forgotten the gods?
\nquiet, in their deluxe and broken finery
\nsome say that they have forgotten you
\ni say that you have forgotten yourself<\/p>\n

on the grass of diminishing sanity
\ni saw a handsome hobo
\ngrabbing gold glasses
\nand practicing magic
\nwith feral, fertile cats
\nwas he maintaining the mentality
\nof unpaid symbols?
\nno, i think he was just
\nplaying, and waiting for
\nthe promise of random mischief<\/p>\n

damn this homeless ego brew
\nand the comedy of pointless kings
\ni wish he\u2019d teach me his reclusive secrets<\/p>\n

unwritten and riding rusty nails
\nof lazy graveyards
\nour shadows shape white beasts
\nand hookers become prophets
\nit’s heaven all night
\nas we sit laughing
\nat cold memes
\nand narrow dreams<\/p>\n

untrained and entertaining
\nthe crickets are exhausted
\nfrom years of curious songs
\ngive me one more golden morning of lies
\nguided by black cat fantasies
\nand wrapped in green mushroom eyes
\nas i surrender to another
\ncontemporary sunrise<\/p>\n

when does the butterfly cry?
\nmaybe when these distant
\nand delicious distractions
\nconsume all our cancelled playgrounds<\/p>\n
