flawed with predictability
\nthe status of a genius
\nis nullified by
\ndelayed rhymes
\nand negligent time<\/p>\n

doves and drones
\nroam
\ncats and rats
\nattack
\nand then a trickle of
\ncreative insanity
\nas the spirit animal becomes animated
\nbefore laying down to die<\/p>\n

fluid fascination
\nmixed with thin moonlight
\ncreates a
\nhabitable hallucination
\nwhich leads to
\neventual assassination
\nof this anxious
\nalien imagination<\/p>\n

conversing in dissident phrases
\nwe browse empty fantasies
\nburned by background fires
\nas the smoke drifts and
\ncarries us to new
\nand disconnected heights<\/p>\n

arrange the atmosphere
\nbecause fate is often late
\nso, roll with me
\ninto this narrative possession
\nas we quietly seek
\na new form
\nof shabby spontaneity<\/p>\n

don\u2019t run from that
\nradiant mystery
\nno more words
\nno more war
\nart, in the heart
\npoetry, as chemistry
\nwith broken guitars
\nwe summon the stars<\/p>\n

backwards revelation
\ndownward stimulation
\ndriven towards
\na familiar simulation
\nwe are playing and waiting
\nfor a stubborn form of absolution<\/p>\n

and before the ink dries
\nlines, or vines
\nof progressive euphoria
\ngrow under a smooth sequence
\nof random events<\/p>\n

dreams of a conquistador
\nnew and territorial
\nare interrupted by the sun
\ndamn this corona summer!<\/p>\n

some of us hold a sacrificial sword
\npoised to sever unkempt stems of love
\nas the immortality of manic progression
\ndemands a glassy oblivion
\nso,
\nbe a fierce philosopher,
\nwalk like a warrior
\ncutting down curses
\nand whisper victories
\nwithin a kiss
\nbecause the apocalypse
\nis in foreclosure<\/p>\n
