morning…
\nit seems i\u2019ll always have to share this chair with my cat
\nhe’s my companion, like an absent wife or girlfriend
\nalways wanting something.
\nit’s too early to be up,but then, those of us with the touch don’t sleep much
\nwe like to think it’s cause we’re special,
\nbut really we’re cursed, nothing more than apes along the ladder of evolution.
\nsometimes it would be easier to believe
\nthere are gods looking down, mocking us
\nsetting us up for their own entertainment
\nbut the only ones watching us are the cops, and the spies
\nthey’re waiting for something else ya know
\nit’s less glamorous though, those everyday aspects of life,
\nlike taking a shit, shaving, or eating a donut
\nand then there’s writing,
\nfirst a blinking cursor, pause, and hopefully revelation
\nwhen the words flow like this, it usually doesn’t make any sense,
\nbut i\u2019ll find a use for it, and if not it’ll get shuffled away
\non the hard drive, rantings for a later use,
\nfiller perhaps for the secret book.
\ni\u2019ve had these weird dreams of transformation
\nlike i was almost part of someones else’s art
\ndrifting in and out at all the wrong moments
\ni\u2019m constantly struggling with what good art is
\nbut here’s the secret, there is no “good art”
\nit’s all subjective, personal, and usually garbage
\nuntil that beautiful moment when it means something to someone else
\nit’s a good start at least..a teaser of things to come
\nwriting hard is like fucking, an inconsistent rhythm, necessary release,a sense of accomplishment and sometimes\u2026, of self
\nit’s hard to reconcile the disparate beings in my brain,
\nthe hermit, the hero, and the megalomaniac, constantly at odds
\nit’s like being on LSD that’s a year old,less potent but still strange,
\nas thoughts drift like echoes from the back of my mind.
\nthe hermit is stronger, he always has been.
\nnow i\u2019ve begun to notice my facial hair is a bit too long,
\nscratchy and mildly irritating,
\nand i see a touch of grey upon the head,
\nwisdom perhaps or just a sign of the inevitable<\/p>\n
