\ni\u2019m so dark
\ni echo the light
\ndisturbed in the morning
\nby mandatory routines
\nabsent minds
\nare working on nicotine dreams
\ninterrupt us please<\/p>\n

static over the radio voice
\nsimple choice
\none step towards heaven
\ntwo steps towards hell
\nis it safe to assume
\nthat consequence will consume
\nthese tired playroom eyes
\nimmune, perched on a padlock tune
\nwith love or no love
\nwaiting like old flowers
\non a stale shadow moon
\nis this a temple or a tomb?<\/p>\n

dust in your eyes
\nbetter than
\ndirt in your mouth
\nno coffin, just
\na little closer to creation
\nlisten, to a subtle serpent hiss
\ntraversing an open abyss
\nwaiting for strangers to kiss
\nas a decimal distance
\ndisrupts this decadent desire<\/p>\n

here comes the slow chill
\nas grey hearts distill
\nshadows of freewill
\nand with a sleepy touch
\nwe kill, then slowly fill
\nlead chalices of goodwill
\nuntil they spill
\nacross a crimson floor<\/p>\n

what to do on this
\nwarm december morn?
\na dusty notebook implores
\na solitary pen seeking to explore
\nempty reason
\nand where is my kitten?
\ni’m not even sure what day it is
\nbut i smell fire on the wind
\nand violet days are erased
\nby perfume and victory<\/p>\n

thick or thin
\npossessed by leftover dreams
\nhow these bodies heave and sway
\nmechanically
\nthrough another disconnected day
\nas copper skin is stretched across
\ngraphite souls
\nand caffeine corpses cast a wrinkle in time
\nas we code madness into ones and zeros<\/p>\n

playfully we disobey
\nhow many flies have you killed today?
\nsinging sunrise with a sideways sun
\nhow did we become adults
\nin this childlike world?<\/p>\n

baptized eyes communicate and await
\nforgotten temptations of fate
\nthat incubate
\na skeptical heart rate<\/p>\n

ohh how we weave days and nights
\ninto simple spells
\nof partisan passion
\nas conversations are captured
\nby cacophonic promises<\/p>\n

gripped by one last chance at magic
\nit’s a far cry
\nfrom the blundering brilliance
\nthat once captured this lonely dog heart<\/p>\n
