\nblack notebook bible
\nwritten in reverse
\ndrunk to sober
\ncoffee to water
\nclutching this fatal pen
\npatterns are put to the test
\nas a new notebook nears
\nforetold and
\nwritten in red ink
\nwith random words
\nthat spell pleasure
\nor certain doom<\/p>\n

rested but not at peace
\ni conjure this forsaken descent
\nas passion is lost
\nin the blackest night\u2019s discontent
\nthe clock’s hands move in the wrong direction
\ncome the kitten kisses
\nwrapped in a faded soul
\nand typing to pass the time
\nthe end is almost complete<\/p>\n

\nrantings from an absent mind
\nbe quick, be clever
\nwhen you’re slow, you’re dead
\npoetry and poverty
\none more line
\ncold and curated
\nwith clear tears
\npainted on a september moon
\ni\u2019m reaching for dead batteries
\nin the heat of the night<\/p>\n

words only work
\nwhen the soul is caught between
\ntorment and freedom
\nwords are only wise
\nwhen spoken on fallen swords
\nmost days, words are ransomed,
\nheld hostage and uttered on cracked lips
\nyet some nights
\nwords walk within theatrical hours
\nabsurd, abstinent
\nwaiting to be reborn<\/p>\n

\nstationary in a satirical sanctuary
\ni need another myth
\nto escape this artificial night<\/p>\n

open streets sing
\nsongs of restless reanimation
\ncaressing old skin
\nas a vulgar preacher
\nwipes sin
\nfrom his feathered lips
\nchaos in the quiet bloom
\nhe waits, drinking rum
\ncaught in the hum
\nof another purple papal night<\/p>\n

the word is lost
\nas peacock pesants
\npeddle pagan probabilities
\nun-calculated and carefree
\neverything moves in waves
\nas pirates and jedi ninjas
\nparade paleolithic pandemonium
\nand here i hang
\nstretched like an impossible saint
\nbetween malcilent moments
\nwatching four hundred feminists
\nfollow false flowers
\nrevealing nothing
\nbut fetid faces
\nand facts that feature
\nfaustian fables<\/p>\n

the old gods are hiding in molecular structures
\nand they crave the cure of human frailty
\nmagic becomes science
\nand science becomes static sanity
\nas seventeen points of light
\nilluminate and disseminate
\nthe spirit of an empty christ child<\/p>\n

\nnaked indian trance
\nsultry succubus dance
\nit\u2019s a calamitous consummation
\nsubtle erection
\ncomplicated collection
\nthese maidens are masters
\nof misdirection
\nsometimes flesh is all we have left
\nas bedroom flowers pollute the midnight air<\/p>\n

rolling in the dirt and
\nwaiting for the worms
\n“we’re onto something here”
\nthe red woman cries
\nrobbed of his true voice
\nthe joker frowns
\nunder a smile of delectable desire
\nas crosses and corpses are caged
\nin a unconscious cafe
\nof malicious intent<\/p>\n

seven years to live
\nand three to die
\nroaming a winter passage
\nof boredom and insanity
\neach season brings
\na new cycle of indifference<\/p>\n

the road is closed
\nthe gun jammed
\nand the ink ran dry<\/p>\n

fasting, and feasting on cheap wine
\nwe are anticipating inspiration<\/p>\n

unbalanced and euphoric
\nhow could we live for anything other than
\nthis one, magnificent moment<\/p>\n
