the clock is strung out
\nas time beats in parallel
\nto bleeding hearts
\nwaiting for strangers
\ncarrying horseshoes
\nand it’s always something new
\nisn’t it?
\nlives stretched out
\nlike plastic glue
\nand printed on a comic book facade<\/p>\n

the hands on the clock spell time
\nthrough incomplete observation
\ntick tick tick
\nsolid trick
\ndisturbing the dwindled wicks
\nas we
\nwrite to misunderstood misfits
\nwith blood on soiled tiles<\/p>\n

the clock is strung out
\nas order and chaos
\nkiss and conspire
\nto overthrow the common man
\ncontemplating lips laced with profanity
\nthe soldiers stab saints
\nand solicit western sanity<\/p>\n

politically active
\nand spiritually inactive
\nas computers calculate
\nthe terms of human persistence
\ncivil servants are not civil
\nand the fraud of their existence
\nis never quite revealed<\/p>\n

the clock is strung out
\nwaiting to feed the work day
\nas morning weeps for
\nnights of neglected passion<\/p>\n

secluded choice
\nevery day is a dull and different picture
\nand i don\u2019t like the sound of my own voice
\nso rejoice
\nin the face of indefinite detention<\/p>\n

the clock is strung out
\nwhile one man works
\nand another one plays
\nwhile one woman loves
\nand another one slaves
\nfeeding praise
\nsurrender to this fading craze
\nfuck the political maze
\nand religious haze<\/p>\n

dropping deaf tones
\nand feeding on hollow bones
\nas life is leased out
\nthen left for dead<\/p>\n

the clock is strung out
\nas slow hands
\nreap the rewards
\nof sampled living<\/p>\n

two beats to dusk
\nhanging on
\nthe anticipation
\nof one finite embrace<\/p>\n

the clock is strung out
\nwatching as i stand up
\nand
\nstand out
\nwith a loose rhyme
\nalmost on time
\nand ready for the next passage<\/p>\n

tomorrow waits for no one
\nso kill the moment
\nwith glorious exclamation<\/p>\n
