on nights like this
\nthe walls watch
\nwith quiet
\ndisinterest
\nas we reach for
\nknives
\nsharp like
\npaleolithic poems
\nwhile fall flowers
\nscream for mercy<\/p>\n

soft discharge
\nwaking and
\nwalking from
\none moment to the next
\na winter waitresses
\nstruts in feigned majesty
\ncommanding toy soldiers
\ntowards a familiar maelstrom
\nand
\nthe poet is a false prince
\nwith pride,
\nunrepentant he strides
\nfighting and fucking
\nto conquer the other side
\nof me<\/p>\n

waiting for angels
\nand departed dandelions
\nthat ride a soft october wind
\nwe dream of
\nthe sweet death of attrition
\nas one silken beast
\nis consumed by another<\/p>\n

saintly bones crossed
\nwith cryptic cat eyes
\nreality is lost
\nand i’m
\ngripped, ripped
\ntripped, and stripped
\nby metaphysical metaphors<\/p>\n

momentary relapse
\nas toadstools reign
\nin the garden
\nof forgotten sorrows<\/p>\n

i sit
\nwith the great white owl
\nsummoning
\nthe native warrior spirit
\nand open
\npaper doors
\nwith psychoactive rations<\/p>\n

remember the snake
\nfire sign
\ndivine
\nbroken
\nbloodline<\/p>\n

question and resist
\nstagnant rules
\nas maculiferous minstrels
\nweave work-day woes
\nin the kingdom of blues<\/p>\n

if it wasn’t for
\ntomorrow
\nthe unwritten words of
\ntoday
\nwould certainly spell
\noblivion<\/p>\n
