<\/p>\n

slow days
\nbanged out
\nand bleeding blue blood
\ndressed like a bum
\nas old news, and tired shoes
\nwait for the new moon
\nimpossible remedy
\nalways late
\nand fate
\nhas a way of stirring my eyes
\ntoward a certain semblance
\nof faulty perfection<\/p>\n

the art is in the execution
\nand there are no priests left
\nto grant you absolution
\nas the silver screen burns around the edges
\nof your story book ending<\/p>\n

stumbling through my closed kitchen
\nand staring at my desolate island counter
\nthere are six cans
\nof empty scotch ale
\nand the light seems to shine
\nat the most inconvenient moments
\nas the early morning toilet god
\nis filled and relieved
\nit’s all bullshit
\nbut it’s my bullshit
\nso that’s just alright with me<\/p>\n

careless we roam
\nwaiting to discover the other side of noon
\nas reality spells doom
\nand i am
\nnothing but words
\nwritten in empty spaces
\nabridged in focused places
\nof abbreviation
\nand amalgamation<\/p>\n

stars rise and fall
\nwaiting to be born
\ninto something fashionable and untrained
\nand fables hold no sway here
\nas we spit fire and
\nharvest radical roses
\nfrom an arcade graveyard<\/p>\n

don’t stop to think
\nembrace the song of
\nthe great yellow bird
\nand strike a chorus
\nwith hands of self immolation
\nas perspiration from indefinite perpetrations
\nlinger on furrowed brows
\ni can’t wait for tomorrow
\nand i can’t live with today<\/p>\n

beer grants us grace in a fallen fashion
\nas the creature from the clocktower
\ngazes
\nin phases
\nof an indifferent moon
\nand red tires roll
\nwith vagrant patrons of yesterday’s prophecies<\/p>\n

confused, let us set the table
\nand consume a breakfast of wild flowers
\nwhile we dream of killing
\nthese false and weighted routines<\/p>\n

resident monkeys stare through a cellphone mist
\nand wonder when their time will come
\nas useless humans dine with spirits
\nthat guide precipitous hands
\nand chainsaw cutthroats
\ndance like scrambled atoms
\nof contrasting creation<\/p>\n

kill what’s left
\nand rise again they say
\nbreathe fumes from an empty can
\nfate is such a cruel mistress
\nand
\ni write this poem and
\ndedicate it to all the women
\nwho think my poetry is great
\nand to all the trees
\nfor they are the first and the last
\nwith a neutral glance
\ni ponder the last meaning of night
\nas greed calls lust
\nit’s lucky cousin
\nand the black and white godless cat
\ngrants me another passive submission<\/p>\n

poetry needs no reason
\nalways alone
\nbut strong beyond reason
\ni need a modest light
\ni’m not like other men
\nand some of you know this
\ni need instinct
\na black moon lilith
\nsynchronicity and simplicity<\/p>\n

the sun god has come to claim us
\nand we cannot escape the the mystery
\nof time’s insipid claws
\ni wonder how i will portray the dance of tomorrow
\none beer
\none song
\none memory
\ni wonder how long i can keep this going?<\/p>\n
