sun-glassed and standing upon
\na salted and sandblasted shore
\ni suspect a storm is on the rise
\nstationary and plotting rebirth
\nas the clouds form blanket shadows
\nreminding us of the safety of the womb<\/p>\n

faded, forlorn, and forsworn
\nfalling flat upon the face of uncertainty
\ncould we escape these
\nexcited escapades
\nin favor of multiplicity?<\/p>\n

the beat is a distant and consistent beast
\ndriving us with heretical meditations
\nand unearthly interpretations
\nback and forth through an empty church
\nas the high priest speaks
\nwords measured in a maniacal melody
\nleased but never deceased
\nin a circle of love’s feast<\/p>\n

fossil passion
\nrepurposed, re-armed
\nand made new
\nis it showtime or showdown?<\/p>\n

eating what’s left of these lucid eyes
\nas a table-top troubadour
\nlaments fallen stars
\nare we just abandoned puppets
\nrippling and rushing between
\nsheets and streets
\nlaced with fool’s gold?<\/p>\n

the girl on the water
\nthe beer in my hand
\nand the kitten on my lap
\nthe symphony of summer is coming to an end
\nand life, genuine in existence
\nseems a million miles away<\/p>\n

sometimes one good night
\nis all that matters<\/p>\n
