circumstance
\npacified by a
\npost-revolutionary
\npseudo-prophet
\ncomposting under a
\ncancerous sunset
\nand carefully composing
\na caboodle of calamitous intent<\/p>\n

days without poetry
\nand nights without you
\ni’m bathing by a pool
\nof blood wine and rum
\nslow, lost, and rolling with
\nthe blues of blind noise
\nas i memorize this dictionary of sound<\/p>\n

i spied beauty in the forest
\nand her name was spelled like art
\nwrapped up in this
\ncalculated cadence
\nit’s a ceremony
\na climax of
\nwarring souls<\/p>\n

hocus pocus
\nshaped and shifted focus
\na devil is watching,
\nlaughing at this mismatched moment
\nof soulful particles
\nstretched across glazed eyes<\/p>\n

i’m counting winters
\nand collecting summers
\nmourning the loss of
\nsudden invention
\nor was it
\nprophesied intervention
\nas i embrace this
\nempty space
\ntired race
\nof an all too familiar
\nheadcase<\/p>\n

here come the dogs
\nconfident and clueless
\ni don’t follow that pack anymore
\nyet i’m still dying, slowly
\nwill i birth something new today ?<\/p>\n

“open the door”
\n“what are we doing here?”
\n“we are conjuring dreams
\nfrom sedentary reality”<\/p>\n

“don’t remember the old gods
\nreinvent them
\nmars is on fire
\nand as faith is restored
\nwe will burn
\nthe sheet music of war
\nto cleanse all this disorder”<\/p>\n

the sun is driving an obtuse sky
\nas the heavens duel
\nwith a crawling horizon
\na creature storm
\nis cajoled, cultivated, and reborn
\nas subjective smoke rises
\nfrom the sultan of sarcasm<\/p>\n

patchwork assimilation
\nbroken communication
\nwith ghost songs
\nwaiting on spectral signs
\nlimited in and out of time
\nethereal conversations
\nare luring me towards
\nunknown features of the west
\nas i seek to
\nmap this modern miracle<\/p>\n

i empty another bottle of wine
\nin search of that elusive jinn
\nand these episodic vibrations
\nthreaten to crack
\nthe great window of dawn<\/p>\n

riding a red spider mystery
\ni’m calling for one more connection
\nor perhaps just a universal correction
\nsudden hex, no sex
\njust mechanical reflex
\nand the web,
\nthe web is overgrown
\nas it reaches for it’s apex<\/p>\n

catching echoes
\nthe moon made me crazy
\nsleep was required but denied
\nand thankfully this notebook is almost spent<\/p>\n
