cascading failures
\ncaught in the shadow of
\nparasites and forgotten martyrs
\nseparate we bloom
\ncarried forward by
\nthe momentum of
\nabsolute zero<\/p>\n

where are all the
\nsun-tanned saviors ?
\nwhere are all the
\nwardress women?
\nand where is this american dream
\nthat we were promised<\/p>\n

were i as old as
\nthis colossal tree
\ntowering before me
\nwould i stand
\nso tall and proud?<\/p>\n

in the depths of these muted moments
\ni can still hear the gods of old
\nwhispering plots of panarchy
\nas they watch and wait
\nfor me to kill
\nthis new vision<\/p>\n

bait and switch
\nas sullen sailor dogs
\nskulk these bounded highways
\ncarrying beats in
\nballistic backpacks
\nthis is no time for functional calamity<\/p>\n

embracing the spirit of the snake
\ni could scout these vain
\nand probable outcomes
\ntill the sun refused to rise<\/p>\n

rhythm and the blur progressed un-obsessed
\narrested by this chemical life
\nand ruled by a cabalist calendar
\nis he a clown, a priest, a bum, or a poet?
\nborn to document, observe
\nand eventually
\ndie alone
\nwill he anticipate or participate?<\/p>\n

overdrawn and underpaid
\nforget this world and remember another
\nraving and craving something more
\nlet us gather oblique tools of
\ncreation and destruction
\nas false fate grants us
\none last chance
\nto unite the tribe of creativity
\neven the crazy fuckers
\nfind true love (or so they say)<\/p>\n

underworld
\nshaman honeymoon
\nattuned
\nin a cartoon afternoon
\ndon’t let them destroy
\nthese towering souls<\/p>\n

disrupt and mix up
\ngather the reject brigade
\nand place strategic pawns
\non the plains of dawn
\nrape consumer palaces
\nplant seeds of r(E)volution
\nand summon a riot of singing voices
\nmarching straight through
\nhouses of the holy
\ninto the mirrored night
\nas you dance to the rhythm of
\nyour own labored breathing<\/p>\n

transmogrification
\nwe’re getting stranger everyday
\nas the call of the loon
\nechoes across a smooth distance<\/p>\n

in a dream they tried to commit me
\nfriends, family, and men in insipid suits
\ncame to usher me
\ntowards some semblance
\nof fatal submission
\nresist
\nhiding in plain sight
\ni learned to play their game
\nand now, watching through a star-lit
\none-way mirror
\ni wait for a holy storm
\nto wash away
\ntheir stained currency<\/p>\n
