\nsearching for cheat codes
\nto release the soul<\/p>\n

seasons of the mind
\nchaos and uniform confusion
\na reflection, of the collective mood<\/p>\n

we watch
\nsimple actions
\npropped up
\nand nestled between
\ndreams of terminal insanity<\/p>\n

i had a memory or vision, i’m not sure which
\nand in it, she told me that
\n“everything free, dies in the arms of obscurity”
\nso, with a hard dick
\nand soft lips
\nthe redemption of 5am stirs me from
\nthe great half sleep
\nleftover from a night of tequila and old mushrooms
\na night, almost strange enough to write about<\/p>\n

staggering down the hall
\nlingering eyes examine me with a passive intent
\ncat eyes, dog eyes
\neyes of ghosts long since past<\/p>\n

out we go, slightly chilled and
\nwatching the morning motorcade
\nas repetitious birds
\ncall for the glory of night<\/p>\n

i’m searching an old notebook for a new line
\nas my kitten navigates this beautifully cluttered desk
\nthey say disorganization is a sign of genius
\nmore likely it’s a sign of laziness<\/p>\n

how many simulations have you run?<\/p>\n

line after line
\nkeyboard strokes made whole
\nas the flow of words is channeled from
\nspirits long since laid to rest<\/p>\n

bottled and prophesied
\nopened from the inside
\nwe are so often
\nsoft, submissive, and complicated
\neventually fatigued and fabricated
\nbut still, we seek fuel
\nfor this finite fury<\/p>\n

walking between waking worlds
\nwe remember premonitions of a superstitious kiss
\nas crippled jokers mock
\nmachine-like magicians
\nwith magnetic melodies<\/p>\n

compost
\noverdosed
\nplayful ghost
\ntwo eyes open
\nyet the third remains closed
\nas we tread
\ninto this familiar madness
\nonce more<\/p>\n

washed out and walking along a new road that seems old
\ni feel musical vibrations and real world alterations
\nyet somehow all the hippies are gone
\nand here is sit
\nsacrificing a stuttering pawn
\nto the false gods of a morning dawn<\/p>\n

this binocular view
\nis a blissful binary hue
\nand i find nobility
\nso absurd<\/p>\n

try as i might
\ni still can’t find the key
\nand for me
\nit’s eternity
\nunder an orange sea<\/p>\n

i can\u2019t tell if these waking dreams
\nare ghosts, visions, or predictable routines
\nperhaps i\u2019m just a plaything of the gods
\nmanipulated by an enlightened
\nand twisted sense of humor<\/p>\n

broken souls heal in an uneven manner
\nand the spaces between spaces are less secure
\nmapped in a miniature modality
\nof a meticulous mind funk
\ni need new songs to sing
\npathways, rhythms
\nsequencing<\/p>\n

admiration, admission, and expiration
\nthe seasons’ finale is almost upon us
\nwhat new\u00a0mysteries will unfold
\nas i spit upon the face of fate?
