\nmarooned under
\nmalfeasant middled-aged madnesses
\nas we relieve squalid ghost
\nof their memorex duties<\/p>\n

walking on icy streets
\nscented with day old cologne
\nwe carry machine guns
\nloaded with paper bullets<\/p>\n

no religion
\nempty reaction
\nand sudden reanimation
\nas flower girls
\nbecome bag ladies
\nand old men
\ntry to outlast this new breed
\ndrunk and a little too wise for the game
\nit seems the playlist is always the same<\/p>\n

devils and daydreams
\nswimming through
\ndaisy-chains of derelict decoration
\ndecadent and desired
\nno more
\na darkened moment
\nand the flow is altered<\/p>\n

corporate salesmen create flyers
\nto rob the virtuous
\nand poets compose empires
\ndrawn from backward lines
\nof fallen concubines<\/p>\n

the playwrights are priests
\nfrom another age
\nand the president is a dog
\nborn from an ignorant populace\u2019s rage<\/p>\n

radical rites chanted by
\nragged rabble-rousers
\nradiating rabid rational
\nsouth of liberty drive
\nwhere vampires dwell
\nsocialism is on the rise
\nwaiting to compel (the masses)
\nbrutalize, compromise, antagonize
\nit\u2019s a philosophy that fails to civilize<\/p>\n

catatonic entropy
\nand terror in angular thought
\nwelfare, warfare
\neverywhere to be found
\nno rebound
\nas we are held
\nspellbound
\nupon this empty
\nplayground<\/p>\n

writing with toothaches
\nand worn out soles
\nthe dead grass of winter
\nis quietly waiting for
\nspring\u2019s mysteries to unfold<\/p>\n

plastic reality
\nmanifested in songs
\nsung off key
\nin too deep
\nand half asleep
\nwrapped in seasonal abnormality
\nwe are ripped from dreams
\nof mortal sexuality
\nand theatrical technicality<\/p>\n

old moon and new
\nwe are bathed in a blood hue
\nwith racketeering rituals on hold
\nwaiting to to escape this vulgar curfew<\/p>\n
