\nmissing the encore
\nopining on war
\nwith a valentine whore<\/p>\n

grabbing at grey notebooks
\nwhile sipping domestic beer
\nno tear
\nanti-fear
\nfuck that political seer<\/p>\n

i see words written on the steps
\nof some lonely playground
\nwords that dance in front of me
\nlike the memories of
\nforgotten summer children
\nsearching the streets for quarters
\nin the dusty spring rain<\/p>\n

words like manipulated images
\nthe masses want glasses
\nfull of
\ndistraction,
\nobsolete attraction
\nand constant extraction<\/p>\n

some of us live
\nonly to repeat
\na certain sense of retreat
\nas empty stomach\u2019s remind us of
\ngreener days and subtle praise
\nblack temple fools
\nare just mules
\nfor a different age<\/p>\n

remembered in haste
\nas a passive poet porn star
\nor poverty\u2019s superstar
\ncurious
\nlike a page that slowly fills
\nfurious
\nlike a glass that quickly spills
\nplotting tomorrow\u2019s course
\nwith mild amusement
\nas we wait for another obscene gesture<\/p>\n

world of color
\nworld of white
\nguided gently
\nby the sounds of night
\nnegative copyright
\ninfamous birthright
\nrolling slowly
\nacross a sea of waning kilobytes<\/p>\n

we meditate and disassociate
\ncreate
\ndeviate, infuriate
\ncongregate and communicate
\nnegotiate<\/p>\n

tilting towards
\nintoxication and procreation
\nmovements of fabrication
\ndislocation
\nalteration
\nand finally
\nglorious evocation<\/p>\n

tired of the human spell
\nas heavy minds
\nare ripped from solitary consignment
\nwe are animated in silent levity
\nas three dried leaves
\nare crushed and burned
\nit\u2019s penance in the final act<\/p>\n

ambient agitation
\nhesitant revocation
\nsitting here with the door closed
\ni could write the world out of existence<\/p>\n

days like this,
\ndays like this call for
\nvacant expressions
\nand abbreviated confessions<\/p>\n

the gods have granted us a new setting
\nto perfect our art
\ndangerously unfamiliar
\nunnamed, untamed
\nincoherent as we wait
\nfor littered and lettered fantasies
\nto arrive<\/p>\n
