\nwaking in the warm winter rain

\nthe gods have granted me
\na reprieve
\nwaiting at the wandering window
\nand i\u2019m
\nwriting words
\nthat cling together
\nlike subjective kisses<\/p>\n

fast food thoughts
\nwith ten dollars
\nand a bargain shot<\/p>\n

we are
\nlost in lacerated living
\nwith distant transmissions
\nunforgiving
\nalways
\none crescendo away from
\nthe perfect beat
\nor one cadenza
\nfrom a silent retreat<\/p>\n

different poems
\ndifferent minds
\ndifferent lives
\nclashing together at all the wrong times<\/p>\n

formulated under a dominant kiss
\nas bullet number nine
\nis condensed
\nand transmogrified<\/p>\n

snakebite, reignite
\nthat midnight light
\nheld tight
\nwith soft paralysis
\nas pagan pageantry
\nis personified
\nin chromatic succession<\/p>\n

the human condition
\nrequires a steady stream of
\nmetric sentences,
\nmindful medication,
\nand sinful meditation
\nwith science and sorcery
\nserving as sabbatical signposts
\nsealed in forms of
\nsacrilegious selection<\/p>\n

and now
\none minute moment
\ncaptivated by
\nan intricate pattern of raindrops
\nconcealing
\nradiant revelations<\/p>\n

type type type
\nwait for it
\nand then
\njust like that
\nall this is rendered irrelevant
\nas i watch my handsome white and black cat
\nmethodically pace
\nand ponder the linoleum floor
\nsearching for attention
\nor a chance at mischief<\/p>\n
