and conmen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>dreams and dreamers<br \/>\nwaltzing with<br \/>\nlanguage in cages<br \/>\nmarked by two or three words<br \/>\neconomical in essence<br \/>\nthe first few lines<br \/>\nthat the poet conjures<br \/>\nare usually the best<br \/>\nsimple and birthed from<br \/>\nthe minds of young terrorists<br \/>\nwith phrases that lend meaning<br \/>\nto the symmetry of sullen sorrows<br \/>\nas we walk softly in the median night<\/p>\n<p>another day<br \/>\nand another dollar<br \/>\ninflationary tales<br \/>\nthat remain unspent<br \/>\nwith reluctant sinners<br \/>\nthat refuse to repent<br \/>\nthe president is a pig<br \/>\nand your modern god is absent<br \/>\nthe school buses are all empty<br \/>\nas the dragon dreams of dandelions<\/p>\n<p>bowing and scraping like pack dogs<br \/>\ncaptured in an underworld<br \/>\nand hungry for something more<br \/>\npeace is such a panic stricken proposition<br \/>\nas the pageantry of war<br \/>\npervades the social mind<\/p>\n<p>the beast has claimed the madhouse<br \/>\nremodeling it into a manic mansion<br \/>\nof machiavellian machinations<br \/>\nand the gangs are gathered<br \/>\nin blue suits meant for<br \/>\nslavery hues<br \/>\nwaiting for lsd<br \/>\nto addle their inhibitions<\/p>\n<p>unfiltered by circumstance<br \/>\nthe internet has invented a million stars<br \/>\nand the social credit system is rising<br \/>\nbut i refuse to upgrade<br \/>\ndownplayed, downgrade<br \/>\ni\u2019d rather be defined as obsolete<br \/>\nthan one of them<\/p>\n<p>wandering around graveyards<br \/>\nof delightful descent<br \/>\nwith passion killed<br \/>\nand recycled ten times over<br \/>\ni drift from task to task<br \/>\nand woman to woman<br \/>\ntired, nearly expired<br \/>\nand outside of it all<\/p>\n<p>i\u2019ve been polishing my shoes all week<br \/>\nwaiting for that wayfaring smile<br \/>\nwith eyes that endure<br \/>\nand stare a long mile<\/p>\n<p>yet here i sit<br \/>\nwith worn slippers<br \/>\nthat mark middle aged territory<br \/>\nchased and erased<br \/>\nas i gaze in the mirror<br \/>\nupon red eyes<br \/>\nand lines on my face<br \/>\nall too apparent<br \/>\nand difficult to embrace<\/p>\n<p>slouching on a pink shore<br \/>\ngive me one more bottle of wine<br \/>\nto imbue and renew<br \/>\ndistant rays of sunshine<\/p>\n<p>in the end<br \/>\nthe word always returns<br \/>\nas a poem, a pattern<br \/>\nto help me find my way home<\/p>\n<p><a
