ritual process
\nstale and subdued
\nin the flaky morning hue<\/p>\n

is there balance?
\nnot often
\nbut a bit of
\ngentle consistency
\nis good every now and then<\/p>\n

with so much addiction,
\nsubmission, and sudden transmission
\nlife can seem like a familiar disgrace
\nas we deputize excuses for every impulse
\nand sleep walk through
\nrepetitive patterns of superstition
\nseeking ghosts in the form of
\nnew friends, a playful competition
\nit\u2019s a constant game of
\nconquest or cacogenesis
\nself dominated in the guise of
\nsex or sainthood<\/p>\n

where are all the
\nblack magic artists
\nand white magic whores?
\nwaltzing through a wailing mile
\nwatching dinosaurs in drugstores
\nendless wars, half hearted encores
\nand ridiculous metaphors
\nas we search for action
\nthe familiar feeling of something old
\nor the anticipation of something new
\na blank check
\nfor spiritual revenue<\/p>\n

this play has been performed
\na hundred times before
\nand though the actors are different
\nthe plot remains the same
\nand we are left
\nwith no one else to blame<\/p>\n

somewhere in the distance
\na cigarette burns
\nand we are
\ndisinherited like morning mildew
\nas sleep deprivation is mounted
\nwith dark coffee dreams
\nand empty glass regimes
\nwe embrace confusion,
\nstuttering concentration,
\nand mild calamity
\nsearching for a small measure of clarity<\/p>\n

stop
\na moment to think
\nbefore the computer screen spells
\nslow decay<\/p>\n

binary encyclopedia
\nand everything is media
\nas the senses collate too much
\n(mis)information
\nmixed with tepid insanities
\nthat lead to an overload
\nof anxious procrastination<\/p>\n

everybody\u2019s gotta love something though
\nsunrises over grey clouds
\ncats yawning and clawing for attention
\nsounds and scents of childhood
\nthe first sip of wine after a long day
\nthe flash of a smile from a pretty girl
\nor an easy morning poem<\/p>\n

it\u2019s the little moments,
\nso often unnoticed,
\nthat\u2019ll get you through
\nhold them like a lost lover
\nwith coded compassion
\nforever to renew<\/p>\n
