another morning spent
\nlurking in front of this computer
\nlooking out my window
\nit\u2019s grey
\ncool
\na welcome reprieve
\nfrom the heat and humidity
\nthis summer has wrought<\/p>\n

i love days like this
\ni want to call out sick
\nstay home
\nand sit vibrantly
\nin my underwear
\ni want to
\ntalk to my cats
\nread unfinished books
\npretend to clean
\nsurf the net
\nand generally waste time<\/p>\n

humanz have become good at
\nwasting time
\ni guess the tables have turned
\nwe no longer let time waste us<\/p>\n

no food
\nno conversation
\nno attention
\nno elation<\/p>\n

today is not a day for drinking or poetry
\ntoday is not a day for
\nbeing an adult in any fashion
\nit\u2019s an almost rainy day
\na day for obsolete anticipation
\na day to smoke cigarettes
\nand wander the floor
\nlike ants without a destination
\ntoday is a day for
\nabsolutely nothing<\/p>\n

i haven\u2019t finished my coffee
\nor even showered yet
\nand the morning feels somewhat
\nincomplete
\nsadly though
\nit\u2019s almost time
\nto go to work
\nand i guess a poem was born after all<\/p>\n
