chance encounters
\npassing between charcoal stars
\nthat move like dogs in heat<\/p>\n

we are broken by
\nthe cold machine
\nof isolation<\/p>\n

looking for god
\nor words that won\u2019t fail us
\nwe take the shape of
\npossessed beer drunk souls
\nsilently deposed
\nwithin a circle of sacrificial stones
\nwe stutter and weave
\nthrough memories
\nand fortunes yet to be told<\/p>\n

cobbled together with
\nbundled worksheets
\nof stationary discoveries
\nwe are
\nwaiting for love
\nwaiting for clarity
\nwaiting for the right moment
\nto die<\/p>\n

half drunk and dead to the world
\nthere\u2019s a certain stillness
\nthat demands creative attention<\/p>\n

and now \u201che\u201d
\nhas returned
\nto the state of \u201cwe\u201d
\ntraveling down roads of
\nof a departed daily rhythm
\nthe light is never quite green
\nand madness must surely ensue<\/p>\n

cancel or save
\nremembrance of
\na forgotten summer slave
\npermanent floweres engraved
\non rotting minds depraved<\/p>\n

and now even the flies tremble
\nat the spectacular calamity
\nof this thing called \u201cart\u201d<\/p>\n

clutching at lost opportunities
\nlike stubborn children
\nwe are
\npointed in the direction
\nof misdirection
\nas hollow masks
\nare burned beneath the fire
\nof idle hands<\/p>\n

with hallucinations
\nand machinations
\nthe tin man struts
\nto a minimum session
\nof divine division
\nas an alien eye
\nis carved upon the barn door
\ncats in trees, holy skulls
\nvisions of what can never be
\nwhat does it all mean?<\/p>\n

delusional reverie
\nwith whispers from a dusty fan
\ncarrying stale bedroom air
\ni can\u2019t seem to forget the girl
\nher eyes haunt me
\nher movements taunt me
\nand from slow moving dreams
\nnight is stolen
\nby a prophetic thief<\/p>\n

at moments like this
\nthe buddha sits
\nsatirical
\nin his homemade bunker
\nsipping wine
\nand chewing on stained hours
\nin a pattern of perfect destruction<\/p>\n
