\nas clocks tick
\nlike razor blades of grass
\nbrushing against a soft moon<\/p>\n

the eyes recede
\nand the tongue recoils
\nas erratic music whispers
\nlong forgotten feats
\nand feral cats
\ndance in square motions<\/p>\n

the water boils
\nand the fruit spoils
\nrubber men
\nrecoil
\nfrom
\nbeautiful gargoyles<\/p>\n

the hunter becomes
\nthe hunted
\nas revolution makes way
\nfor conformity
\nand evolution
\nsurrenders to popularity<\/p>\n

colorless people
\non colorless streets
\nare flirting, fighting, and fucking
\nlike mad crows
\nto the tune
\nof some colorless beat<\/p>\n

man\u2019s mad orchestra
\nsounds so sweet
\nto untrained ears
\nyet
\nstyle dissolves in the fat
\nof pharmaceutical truth
\nas technology erases humanity
\nand we wait patiently for nothing<\/p>\n

bony old hands
\nstrum nuclear blues
\nas the children are forgotten
\nand
\nroses that once bloomed
\nin a tsunami of tall tales
\nnow refuse to grow<\/p>\n

all this i\u2019ve seen
\nfrom my living room
\nfrom my bed
\nand from my car<\/p>\n

i used to believe
\nthe word could
\nsave us
\nbut now i know it can only
\ncomfort us
\ntill the end arrives<\/p>\n

god forgot to set the alarm clock
\nand now the inmates
\nare running the asylum
\nthe fools are running free
\nas oblivion plays
\nthe last movement
\nof it\u2019s fateful symphony<\/p>\n
