indifference
\nscreen door exclusion
\nstanding silently among
\nthe cat eyes of noon<\/p>\n

how many times have
\nthese walls observed
\ntwisted tails
\nliving through days
\nlike a wealthy bum<\/p>\n

the surface has barley been scratched
\nand we are
\ntreading on hallowed ground
\nor was it just
\nhollow ground<\/p>\n

split personalities
\nlike rundown factories
\ntread upon the silent hill
\nbare boned
\nand waiting for rebirth<\/p>\n

the swarm is ever present
\nlurking like rats in the wood pile
\ninvoking and imposing
\nscattered definitions
\nupon the midnight mile<\/p>\n

in the distance i see
\nbeer cans
\nlined up like tin soldiers
\nready for another pointless war
\ndecadent as we swim once again
\nfor another empty shore<\/p>\n

magic motion
\nwith dreams like
\nwarning signs
\npursuing conscious thought
\nand there is no afterlife
\nwe just keep coming
\nback and back and back<\/p>\n

i think of death everyday
\nbut not quick death
\nthe slow death
\nthat rebounds from
\ndistracted and desecrated living<\/p>\n

modified monarchies lacerated
\nmen are the modern beasts
\nmade irrelevant by
\nslight of hand-maidens
\nas defiance is transmuted
\ninto reliance<\/p>\n

v isn\u2019t for victory
\nnor for vendetta
\nv is for variety
\nand life has a way
\nof kicking you in the balls
\nbefore patting you on the back<\/p>\n

it\u2019s strange how satan wears
\ngreen satin shirt-sleeves
\nand in summer
\nthe rent is never due<\/p>\n

quiet and alone
\nmy cats have shown me
\nhow to map the stars
\nand
\nin this moment
\ni\u2019m writing delicately
\nbecause
\nthe world seems
\nsofter
\nalmost fragile<\/p>\n

and all i want to do is fuck and fly<\/p>\n
