disarray
\nsettled in
\ncomplicated simplicity
\nlistening to songs of the dead
\nremembered in reverent rehabilitation<\/p>\n

virtual construct made flesh
\nimitating humanity
\nthrough slow revision
\nand lazy adaptation
\ni\u2019m sipping 3.99 wine
\nand picking at dead skin
\nwith no more hope for sin<\/p>\n

a brief moment of bliss
\nnoticed
\nthen dismissed<\/p>\n

i died twice,
\nonce in spirit
\nonce in mind
\nnow
\ni\u2019m waiting for
\nthe third death<\/p>\n

i\u2019ve written and discarded
\nenough poems
\nto fill a junkyard<\/p>\n

fabricated
\ncongregated
\neviscerated<\/p>\n

and
\nthis notebook is a
\ntemporary vocation
\na sanitized abdication
\nbreeding a new and final
\nidentity<\/p>\n

cigarette shade
\nand something stirred
\nrestless, wild, breathless
\ninterpretations blurred<\/p>\n

i sense senile mobility
\nand peaceful dictation
\nas nature battles the matrix
\nfor an epic creation<\/p>\n

the misfits are lost
\nas the railroads are rocked
\nmocked, and deadlocked
\nthey\u2019ve been conquered and claimed
\nby civilized society
\nand now present
\nnothing but tactile symmetry
\non a gentle landscape<\/p>\n

stop the clock please
\nno more
\nadult half measures
\nwe are done
\nlying down with bizarre words
\non the shores of
\ntoday and tomorrow
\nremembering circles within cycles
\nand speaking truths
\non living rooftops of yesterday<\/p>\n

barefoot, bamboozled and
\nworn delicately
\ni\u2019m waiting for action
\nor at least
\na mild distraction<\/p>\n

drunk on a moment of loneliness
\nit\u2019s time to read different poetry
\nit\u2019s time to seek different women
\nit\u2019s time to be an artist in the ghetto<\/p>\n
