giving up or giving in
\ntoo early to leave
\nand too late to grieve<\/p>\n

five am used to be a chore
\nnow it\u2019s
\nstandard operating procedure<\/p>\n

i\u2019m summoned,
\nstill submissive to the word
\nhunched over sandpaper sheets
\nwith saber tooth sacraments
\nand shaded sunglasses<\/p>\n

i\u2019m typing with a swollen finger
\nand watching as the sun tries
\nto rewrite the day
\nhow to say
\nnothing new today
\nin a slightly different way<\/p>\n

convoluted conversations
\nilliterate iterations
\nas binary tongues clash
\nbearing strange fruits of debris<\/p>\n

corridors
\ncodified and corrected
\nwith cameo corpses resurrected
\nremembering a tempest of fake news
\na manifold of manufactured blues
\nhanded to cracked middle classes
\nsipping strange brews<\/p>\n

children disown soul
\nin favor of the future
\nbonds broken
\nsevered with seven swords
\nthen joined
\ndeep within the void<\/p>\n

i watch
\nblack flies on the move
\nhurried in a circular groove
\nand lit by
\na lilac moon
\nrevealing hidden runes<\/p>\n

i feel older and colder
\nyet summer exposes
\nbare bodies
\nall these women abound
\nas serpent sentences surround
\nnone of them are for me
\nand from me
\nthe last
\nwill lie in poetry<\/p>\n

again, no structure
\nthese dreams
\nruminations
\nkeep getting stranger
\ni killed a wasp with wd-40
\nand it it made me remember
\nthe taste of cigarettes at 14 years old<\/p>\n

i\u2019ve abandoned the evening meal
\nin favor of strong beer
\nwhile metal chicks
\nin horror flicks
\nfalsify fantasized factions
\nand women who are comedy
\ndisturb my roving eye<\/p>\n

sundered and plundered
\nwe seek to silence
\nthis external violence
\nwith an alliance
\nof vanilla science and
\nhalf hearted compliance
\nbut it can\u2019t be sunny all the time<\/p>\n

the gods sent me a storm
\nto destroy, and rebuild
\nbut it seems
\nsoggy souls sell hope
\nin a diluted fashion<\/p>\n

vulgar morning
\nbird call alarm clock
\nrepetitive and ready made
\nno more blue cars please
\njust secret words
\nwords of power, words that plead
\nwords that capture you, words that mislead
\nwords that rhyme
\nwords that make you remember
\nand words that make you forget<\/p>\n

five minutes left, waste, haste
\nbroken strings that bind books like bad habits
\nchoosing words from an electronic dictionary
\ni am internal, external, eternal
\ni am procrastination, an uneventful exclamation
\none more recrimination, then determination<\/p>\n

seven billion entries
\nclose, small, and so infinite
\nbut i\u2019m the center of the universe
\nseeking a consciousness
\nexpanded beyond the bedroom
\ni can walk on water
\nand charm multitudes
\nof miraculous mirages
\nif i try<\/p>\n
