-Disclaimer:\u00a0 The following rant is fairly elementary stuff (at least you\u2019d think it\u2019d be), it is not directed at my AnCap brothers and sisters in the liberty mission.\u00a0 It\u2019s directed at those folks that still cling to the idea that a collective minority and pieces of paper can and want to, protect your rights as an individual.<\/p>\n

All political power is enforced at the barrel of a gun.\u00a0 To many this statement would seem extreme, but the sad fact is that no matter what country you live in, it\u2019s the truth.\u00a0 No matter how many times I talk to average folks they just can\u2019t seem to grasp this simple principle.\u00a0 Often times I hear the battle cry \u201cAmerica is the freest country in the world\u201d or simply \u201cwithout a government there would be chaos\u201d.\u00a0 Both these statements show a gross misunderstanding of what Freedom truly is.\u00a0 Freedom is all about choice.\u00a0 How can you consider yourself free if you are forced to pay \u201crent\u201d on property you supposedly own?\u00a0 How can you consider yourself free if you can be thrown in a cage for consuming a substance that an ignorant minority deem \u201cillegal\u201d?\u00a0 How in such a \u201cfree\u201d country can there be so many \u201claws\u201d\u00a0 that make simple activities a crime?\u00a0 How can a fictitious entity like \u201cThe State\u201d be considered the victim (or damaged party) in said crimes?\u00a0 Wiretapping, increased militarization of police \u201cenforcement officers\u201d, restriction of travel, the list goes on and on.\u00a0 America (and the rest of the world) really need to wake up and see the state for what it is\u2026\u2026a collective hallucination and a monopoly of force.<\/p>\n

Governments the world over embrace what Franz Oppenheimer<\/a> called the \u201cpolitical means\u201d.\u00a0 Governments produce nothing, all they can do is steal from the tax cattle or \u201ccitizens\u201d as we\u2019re more commonly referred to. Taxes, regulations, and fines(for\u00a0 \u201cinfractions\u201d) are the only means by which the State can obtain wealth. \u00a0 Governments believe in, and strive to, control, their very existence depends of all of us giving them said control.\u00a0 When they can\u2019t indoctrinate us into giving up control, they create \u201claws\u201d to make us comply.\u00a0 We are coerced into compliance with the threat of violence.\u00a0 There are no voluntary interactions involved here folks, try and volunteer to not pay taxes and see what happens.\u00a0 Statists\u2019 on both the left and the right (as if there is a difference) want to use the force of government to control your actions.<\/p>\n

As a free individual I embrace the \u201ceconomic means\u201d and the non-agression principal<\/a>.\u00a0 I understand that my rights are unlimited so long as they don\u2019t conflict with the rights of another individual.\u00a0 I have no lawful or moral right to tell you what to say, who you can marry, what you can consume, or how you choose to defend yourself.\u00a0 Furthermore I don\u2019t have that right even if 51% of the population agrees with my standpoint.\u00a0 I do have the right to defend my property, and the responsibility to respect yours.\u00a0\u00a0 Can you honestly say that governments\u2026.any government operates by this moral standpoint?<\/p>\n

Our (voluntary) interactions, be they economic, or personal, should not be regulated by any outside entity.\u00a0 I don\u2019t need to make the government a third party in any of my contracts.\u00a0 Now I realize to live in this utopian world I envision, it might take some and wait for it\u2026\u2026.work, along with a little common sense.\u00a0 I also realize that we will not get there overnight, the road to freedom will most likely be a generational one.\u00a0 There must be a rollback in political power and perceived influence.\u00a0 That\u2019s why people like Ron Paul are so great.\u00a0 It\u2019s time to free ourselves from the monopolies that the state creates; in communication, food production, health, and education, just to name a few.\u00a0 First and foremost however,\u00a0 the myth of the State must be dispelled.\u00a0 The youth of the world can no longer be indoctrinated to accept this myth.\u00a0 We should teach them how to think, and not what to think. We can no longer accept the notion that the criminals in the capitols know better than us as to how we should live our lives.\u00a0 Now I realize that not all people are moral, however in a completely voluntary society those that violate another individual\u2019s rights would be shunned or worse.\u00a0 The economic means, innovation, and the market will develop more effective ways to deal with folks like that.\u00a0 The first step towards true Freedom is knowing that you are free.\u00a0 Actively disobeying immoral and unjust laws is part of the formula.\u00a0 Learn to say \u201cNo, I will not comply\u201d.\u00a0 Removing your consent, building strong local relationships, and becoming more independent, will help the demise of the state move along.\u00a0 Ohh, and never forget to have fun!?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
