i\u2019m already dead
\nslow time
\nwaiting for these lines to decay
\ncats feasting on flesh
\neventually betrayed
\none candle left
\nno love, no sex
\njust unpaid sunsets<\/p>\n

last night\u2019s dream was
\nwritten vertically
\nin abstract summation
\ntrailing pieces of some
\nsad and unfinished story
\ncomplication<\/p>\n

mind meme
\nthe words were off white
\nimprinted on black background
\nwe are all at war
\nand war is dying<\/p>\n

i think it\u2019s 1987 all over again
\nand i\u2019m wandering through
\nmy dead neighbors house
\nwith an unopened vcr
\nconversing with hustlers
\nand dangerous children
\nwalking out the door i ask
\n\u201cwhat year is it?\u201d
\nand i\u2019m left wondering
\nwhere all the animals have gone<\/p>\n

sidestepped and
\nwaking with the need to
\nremember
\nor possibly
\ndismember
\nthis uncalibrated puzzle
\nflailing and failing
\nto accept reason
\nno retreat
\njust surrender<\/p>\n

on to the morning muse
\nno title
\nit\u2019s a ship of fools
\nand the great blue owl
\nis always watching
\nnarrated and arbitrated
\nwith crystal clues
\nillustrated
\nin makeshift harmonies
\nset to confuse<\/p>\n

broken souls as preachers
\noften the best teachers
\nand god is just a pattern
\nof manifested energies<\/p>\n

scarred, powerless and left to surmise
\ni\u2019m afraid of summer
\nand the pageantry of it\u2019s memories
\nyou\u2019ll never know how much you meant
\nwhy does it take so long to write
\na good poem
\nor a good life<\/p>\n

culling the the red leaf
\nin the presence of daft creation
\ni\u2019m still waiting
\nfor a remedy to arrive
\ndressed in vagabond clothes
\nwith long crimson hair
\nsoiled bare feet
\nand the sound of that familiar
\nheartbeat
\ndestined to meet
\nonce again, for the last time
\nsouls finally healed
\ntruths radically revealed
\nand i hope that someday
\nshe\u2019ll carry me home<\/p>\n
