\ncontinually trying to climb into your lap
\ntype for the girls
\nwho think you\u2019re clever
\ntype for the old woman
\nthat thinks poetry is very nice
\ntype for that magical woman
\nthat forever pervades your thoughts
\ntype for mothers and fathers
\nwho\u2019s love shaped you into who you are today
\ntype for the teachers
\nwho always knew you\u2019d amount to something<\/p>\n

type for
\nclick click
\nwait what was that
\ninterruption
\nmental indigestion
\na pause, with
\nhair caught in knots<\/p>\n

type to fight the fog that keeps rolling in<\/p>\n

type for the tired and desperate cashier
\nthat shoots you a subtle smile
\ntype for the used car salesman
\nthat just can\u2019t catch a break
\ntype for the lost soul a thousand miles away
\nthat knows you better than most
\ntype for madness
\ntype for sadness
\ntype for resolution
\ntype for a happiness almost attainable
\ntype for winter\u2019s end
\ntype for mysteries you\u2019ve yet to discover
\ntype for music that sets your mind at ease
\ntype because you like to hear the sound
\nof keyboard clicks<\/p>\n

\nsudden indication of
\nuncertain direction
\nclick click click
\ntype to pass the time, don\u2019t decline<\/p>\n

type for the old man
\nthat has lost all hope
\ntype for the dog
\nnapping on your bed
\ntype for your close friends
\nwho have no idea who you really are
\ntype for the special ones
\nthat are no longer here
\ntype for the addicts
\nthat just can\u2019t seem to quit
\ntype for souls damaged
\nbecause words can sometimes heal
\ntype because you don\u2019t want to leave the house
\ntype for glory
\ntype for need of a story<\/p>\n

furiously pounding those keys
\nanother pause, always with the cats
\nright now my oldest is climbing
\npeeking out a half open window
\nthe moment has passed<\/p>\n

type for ashtrays almost full
\ntype for bottles almost empty<\/p>\n

type for distraction
\nremembrance
\ntype for boredom
\nhollow
\ntype for creativity
\ngratitude
\ntype for inexperience
\nlonging
\ntype from pain
\nacceptance
\ntype for salvation
\nthe future
\ntype to keep going
\nbreak the line
\ntype to let it flow
\nor possibly to let go
\ntype to avoid denial
\nand remember who you are
\nand finally, type because it just feels good<\/p>\n
