supermodels and superheroes
\nloved like whores
\nand hunted down
\nwith calamitous intent
\nit\u2019s insanity
\nat the hospital coat check
\nand we are all just
\nfighting a war of attrition<\/p>\n

change comes slowly
\nas the mask falls<\/p>\n

blindfolded and
\nmolded
\nby circumstance
\nthe nights are lit
\nwith fury and flight
\nsubtle tears forgotten fears
\nbathed in oppressive insight
\nand dimmed by candlelight<\/p>\n

so little sleep
\nas winter\u2019s final morning calls
\nawoken and half-way broken
\ni was left to crawl
\nburning between the sword of memory\u2019s heat
\nand passions scribbled on sweaty sheets<\/p>\n

slow movement
\nas wine-fed
\nhalf-breds
\nlurk
\nintent on feeding
\nnew life into
\nan old corpse<\/p>\n

hope is for con artists and suckers
\na fool\u2019s tool blindly used
\nthe only fate
\nis that which you create
\nand life revolves around
\naction and consequence<\/p>\n

acceptance to me seems
\nis bullshit
\nacceptance can
\nbreak a man
\ni refuse to accept
\nthis inevitable decay
\ndefiance is growing within me<\/p>\n

winter\u2019s plight
\nremoved by light
\nuncovered by
\nnature\u2019s might
\ni was redrawn
\nby a malicious spawn
\nand captivated
\nby the pale dawn<\/p>\n

i heard black birds singing
\nthe promise of spring
\non forgotten graves
\nsweet songs of life
\nimpartial yet enslaved<\/p>\n

no longer will this empty heart fall
\ncarved in sand yet
\nblackened and enthralled
\nforever will it soar
\nunapologetically
\nseeking to restore
\ncommunion with the devil\u2019s cabal<\/p>\n
