i took stock
\nin the shock
\nof this dream
\nwaiting patiently
\nfor the violence to end<\/p>\n

nothing to say today
\ndecadence and simplicity
\nstripped me of individuality
\nsitting here with a grey gut
\none door opened
\nand another shut<\/p>\n

soaring over rivers shallow
\nwith rocks and weeds
\nunder a blood red moon, full in bloom
\nand biting the hand that feeds<\/p>\n

sometimes
\nlife is like
\nlooking in a mirror
\neverything comes round
\nfull circle<\/p>\n

awoken with no words spoken
\ni feel like slow death
\non a saturday afternoon<\/p>\n

severing ties that bind
\nsidelined
\nand undefined
\nin this perfect illusion<\/p>\n

it\u2019s lack of communication
\nthat\u2019ll kill a good man
\nand lack of passion
\nthat\u2019ll kill a bad one<\/p>\n

perhaps fate just conspired against us<\/p>\n

walking down the avenue
\nto the corner of distance and
\npersistence road
\nno two angels are alike<\/p>\n

wandering bazaar
\nshowering wine
\nover a heavy scar
\nthere\u2019s just something in the air today
\nyet none of us seek to oppose
\npoetry\u2019s disposable prose<\/p>\n

the engine just won\u2019t turn
\nand i\u2019ve spent too much currency
\nin love to burn<\/p>\n

this new style is
\nalmost as uncomfortable
\nas the old style
\nfamiliar habits
\ncreep like a cat in heat
\ni fight them
\nlike a man fights a woman he loves
\npassively, reluctantly<\/p>\n

i want to dance again
\nno more quiet
\nno more toys
\njust a sudden blur
\nof uneventful noise<\/p>\n

with the word as with love
\nsometimes you have to write
\na lot of bad ones
\nto write a good one<\/p>\n
