it\u2019s one of those mornings where
\nthe word wants to come
\nbut the mind says no
\nperhaps
\nvisions from sleep
\nand thoughts from
\nbelow the surface, deep<\/p>\n

dreams of treading through
\ndangerous waters
\ncrossing to the other side
\nexcitement or appeasement
\ngiving in to abstract desires
\nit\u2019s the absence of strength<\/p>\n

a dream of conjurers of ice and fire
\nreluctance to follow through
\nthe ghosts of women past
\nand the best place i\u2019ve ever worked<\/p>\n

there i was alone
\nrunning along the side of the road
\nin my underwear
\nhoping not to be late<\/p>\n

soiled expectations
\ntreachery in hidden places
\nbeing left alone
\nto become undone<\/p>\n

and always
\nthe image of a tower
\nas the words of karma
\nkeep hovering behind my eyes
\nlessons
\na teacher and student
\nseparate but then somehow merged
\npain heaped upon pain
\ntemptations
\nall to be released
\nor else
\nthere is no peace<\/p>\n

it seems that
\nnone of this is good enough
\ni\u2019m winding a watch
\nwith broken gears
\nand at once i remember<\/p>\n

i\u2019m still looking
\nfor that once lost childhood key
\nthe one made of brass
\nmagical and indestructible
\nit all began then i think
\nand now i\u2019ve lost my copper cube
\nsymbolic
\nboth sacred
\nand sacrificed
\nto an unknown god<\/p>\n

still wandering
\nlisten to the cards<\/p>\n

no liquor and eventful sleep
\nleads to
\nstreams of consciousness
\nthat are second to none
\nhonest truths to behold
\nand perhaps
\nthe night isn\u2019t so cold<\/p>\n

don\u2019t let it sit
\ndon\u2019t let it age
\ninstead
\nlet it rage
\nand click enter<\/p>\n
