conversations like car crashes
\nlining up against the side
\nof some forgotten road
\nwe waited for the inevitable firing squad
\nto finish what these rouge actions began<\/p>\n

silence
\ndeath in the comfort of
\nfantastic belief<\/p>\n

with an obstructed view
\nwe sampled a witches brew
\nand for a time too much
\nwas never enough
\nbut then
\nthe return policy expired
\nand the pronouns of he she and we
\nwere left to stir
\nin an ocean of uncertainty<\/p>\n

she said it was
\ndelaying the inevitable
\nand now
\nthe night always seems to arrive
\nunannounced and unwelcome
\ni\u2019ve spent minutes that stretch like years
\nadjusting to this new reality
\nit\u2019s all just\u00a0 a fallacy
\nand most don\u2019t know the true meaning of love<\/p>\n

how to dispel these demons
\nin deference to dopamine dreams
\ni think of all the moments we\u2019ve spent in this bed
\nthe energies we stirred, conjured
\nwhere have they gone
\nhave they dissipated
\nor changed, formed into something new<\/p>\n

too many apps
\nfor this and for that
\na carefree youth plays the fool
\nwhile a quiet man sits
\nwaiting like a forgotten tool<\/p>\n

once full of zeal
\nnow too profound
\ntoo real
\ni believe these thoughts
\nare not my own
\nsomeone else has taken the wheel<\/p>\n

i seek soul
\nand the fire
\na shining choir
\nin the death of empire
\ngive me a realm of desire
\nwhere passion will never retire<\/p>\n

the world needs more lovers
\nand less men in suits
\ngardens and bargains<\/p>\n

creators of eden
\nwith sincere smiles
\nand unique styles<\/p>\n

more cats, less rats
\nmore communication
\nand less deportation
\nmore travelers
\nand less teachers
\nmore students
\nand honest preachers
\nof the single greatest word<\/p>\n

it is forgotten by most
\nbut i still remember<\/p>\n
