\ntribute stems from
\nsuffering and elation
\npointless alliteration<\/p>\n

everyday
\nis a deal with the devil
\nand
\nit\u2019s all the same really
\nthere\u2019s nothing new
\nin this tiresome clue<\/p>\n

the clash of smiles
\nseems to furnish gutted bones
\nin a never-ending dance
\nof flawed vitality and liberty
\nand poverty echoes the myth
\nof coffeehouses in disdain<\/p>\n

red lights
\nand warning signs
\nstopping
\nat all the wrong times
\nmuscles stiffen and relapse
\nat the thought of divine incarceration<\/p>\n

blue street lamps
\nand steering wheels askew
\nshe drives me
\ninto a diverted sidestep
\nwith a facetious view<\/p>\n

no secrets
\nand so few mysteries left
\nwe are
\ntoo quick
\nand almost always incomplete<\/p>\n

taught to be tough
\nbut all we really are is
\nstubborn
\nand
\ni\u2019ve almost forgotten how to have fun<\/p>\n

the great shamans chant
\nin diagonal syndication
\noffensively
\nchanging the brain
\nand seeking to reign
\nover dominant and uncertain futures
\ni\u2019ve kicked one habit
\nonly to be enslaved by another<\/p>\n

clocked and locked
\nwith a misplaced key
\nworking to abate
\na certain sense of misery<\/p>\n

fictitious
\nand
\nmalicious
\nintent
\nthey watch from afar
\nwith quiet eyes
\nmutating patterns
\nand ghosting posts
\nas we are
\nfed
\nand bred
\nto overthrow one another<\/p>\n

a beast within
\nis always waiting
\nto fight
\nto fuck
\nand to kill<\/p>\n

insanity
\nhumanity
\nvariations of a familiar theme<\/p>\n

but whatever
\nthe cats have all congregated
\nin chaotic harmony
\nand have planned to take over
\nthe living rooms of the world<\/p>\n

soon my end will begin anew<\/p>\n
