<\/p>\n

burning yearning, churning and turning
\nall the world is just a beast
\ncaged in mild torment<\/p>\n

living in the basement
\nand watching heads nod
\nas reality becomes fiction
\nwe are all caught up in this
\nillusion of collusion
\nsuch an irritating addiction<\/p>\n

stuttered existence in circular motion
\nincomplete and weaving within
\ntransparent stream of consciousness
\nas we stand between beams of dulled light
\nspeaking softly to cats
\nunder the shadow of the night<\/p>\n

stop for a moment
\npause
\nand please tell me what is the
\ncause
\nof all this madness<\/p>\n

sudden exclamation and
\nunmet expectations
\nthere\u2019s denial on every street corner
\nit\u2019s a nihilistic nightmare
\nand when you\u2019re level
\nit\u2019s hard to put this existence to words<\/p>\n

a shot to the head
\nfiguratively
\nbut no less dangerous
\nand
\nthe cost is high
\nas we clumsily fortify
\nwith direct distribution
\nand diluted destitution<\/p>\n

how did we get here
\nworking just to live
\nfeeling, fleeting
\nas time slips through an eternal sieve<\/p>\n

we are
\nbeat up but still kicking
\ntoo stubborn to submit
\nfanning a fading spark of youth
\nas we search for
\nentertainment
\nfighting the constant threat of
\nmental slavery\u2019s containment<\/p>\n

not wrong but not altogether right
\nthe caption is backwards
\nin these hands of sleight<\/p>\n

with musical rides
\nstemming uncertain tides
\nwe are
\nquiet
\nand quick with eternity
\nrent,eat and sleep
\nas most follow like sheep<\/p>\n

hacked and habitually sundered
\nthey are, meddling with the melody
\nand, eventually plundered<\/p>\n

no heroes on this road
\nonly art
\ncycling in constant overload<\/p>\n

we are vast in scope but shallow in spirit
\nfleshy being with minute potential
\nanti-social and confidential<\/p>\n

one step leads to the next
\nas original sin
\nhaunts the waking day<\/p>\n
