it\u2019s the early riser
\nwho conquers the world
\nbefore it begins<\/p>\n

alone with the morning set
\nsetting thought to screen
\nit\u2019s quiet and peaceful
\nand this is the only time
\ni feel safe
\nbut i always remember<\/p>\n

in no dreams are we set apart
\nsome remembered, some forgot<\/p>\n

hunched over this keyboard again
\nas the cats purr
\nat six am
\ni take ten deep breaths
\nit\u2019s meditation with coffee
\na moment of \u201cslow time\u201d<\/p>\n

slave master
\nand dead
\nbrain matter
\nthese scenes
\nforever churning
\ntoward the center of this
\nlive and absurd performance
\nand we are often
\nnaked, standing alone
\nwaiting for the unknown
\nas we stumble
\nin\u00a0 an almost humble
\nfashion<\/p>\n

turning to one another
\nin times of need
\ncrisis
\nor bliss
\nso often did we bleed
\nand from the soul
\nit was
\nsatisfaction
\nof the highest order
\nalas
\nit is no more<\/p>\n

now and then he sits
\nin silent fits
\nabsently propelled
\ninto another dimension
\nin which we are one
\nbut not the same
\nan end run
\naround this persistent blue flame<\/p>\n

every time i think of you
\ni write
\nand
\nusually at night
\nstruck by my current plight
\ni die a little inside<\/p>\n

we all lose something
\nnow and then
\nwe remember when
\nit almost made sense
\nas we half heartedly try
\nto be better than ordinary men<\/p>\n

7 billion people
\nand i always pick the wrong one
\ni\u2019d like to say
\nthis trip is almost done<\/p>\n

spilling pages upon pages
\nof useless words
\nliving like a drunkard<\/p>\n

this creation means nothing
\nbecause
\nafter an hour of sitting here
\nmy stream of consciousness
\nis totally fucked
\ni fear<\/p>\n

so
\nquick now
\ngo
\nas the cigarette glows
\nburning low
\nheld in tow
\ndown below
\nby some cruel
\nand unfamiliar gesture<\/p>\n

it can\u2019t be all for nothing
\nkeep it flowing
\nknowing
\nthat in the end
\nsomething will come of this<\/p>\n

i\u2019ve found a place for my dreams and demons
\nand it is here<\/p>\n
