<\/p>\n

kicked backed
\nknocked and calling
\never closer
\nit was a message
\na reminder of
\ntoo many memories
\nand not enough happy endings<\/p>\n

this is no life for second chances<\/p>\n

so i stayed up late
\ndrinking
\ntalking on the radio
\nunthinking
\nand hoping to forget<\/p>\n

everywhere i look i see
\nfools
\ntools
\nof an unlikely beast
\nalways waiting in vain
\nfor the next chapter
\nbut there are no pages left to turn<\/p>\n

this circus seethes in the light of unmet needs<\/p>\n

and it\u2019s always
\nthought in motion
\na stream of constant distraction
\nan almost demonic devotion
\nto a remedial abstraction<\/p>\n

so gimme the highs and lows
\nblack against white
\na constant fight
\nwith this fallacy failing in undertows<\/p>\n

the damage of this death is dealt in daily doses<\/p>\n

and so i follow the parade of the absurd
\nfalling in line
\nwith damnation itself<\/p>\n

it\u2019s an obsessive and relentless pursuit<\/p>\n

one where
\nmen and women become
\nunhinged
\nsearching a sad market
\nwith contracts constantly
\ninfringed<\/p>\n

and where have all the holy men gone?<\/p>\n

all that\u2019s left are
\nartists and conmen
\nthe miserable lot
\nwhat they create lingers
\nnever quite fading
\nbut left in a blind spot<\/p>\n

i feel like something is missing<\/p>\n

writing bad poetry
\nis the best form
\nof passive-aggressive
\nand distant communication<\/p>\n

you motherfucker, ain\u2019t karma a bitch<\/p>\n

this life is full of
\nwhores and
\nmetaphors
\nso
\ndon’t get too close<\/p>\n

we’ve become soft
\nin this unburdened lifestyle<\/p>\n
