i broke it
\nthe old game
\njust doesn’t work anymore
\nand we are
\nmoving faster now
\nanxiously roaming
\nfrom one loose connection to the next
\nsparking a fire
\nthat burns too quickly
\nhigher
\nand so
\ntired
\ni’m just a bad influence
\nthey all know this
\nand sometimes
\nit’s just better to let go<\/p>\n

so you see my friend
\nwe are
\na rare breed
\nbeautiful
\nand out of time
\ndifferent
\nand no longer special
\nwe were born two decades too late
\nand i fear we are becoming
\none of them<\/p>\n

our generation is
\nthe last of the hard driven men
\nfearless and stupid
\nno safe spaces here
\nyet
\nwe think in simple terms
\nand measures of three
\nkarma, conversation and collaboration
\nconstantly eluding me
\nthrill seekers we
\nwant to change the world
\nyet foreign intervention always leads to
\nunintended consequences<\/p>\n

and now it\u2019s time
\nfor the hot show
\nbut
\nthere’s no
\ncommunion
\nthese women don’t want
\nartists or activists
\nthey want the nightlife
\nwith bearded and dangerous men
\nso we are left sitting
\nwith nothing but a cat and a cigarette
\nlistening
\nto the hum of a refrigerator
\nat night<\/p>\n
