\nthere was a man coughing in the distance
\nit sounded like an old car engine
\ntrying to turn over
\nthe stars were out
\nclear and inviting

moments are
\nwhat happen
\nin between
\nthe sheets of life
\nseparating us from
\nday jobs and lonely nights
\nfrom watching the clock
\nand
\nstriking the match<\/p>\n

they are
\nfolds in the fabric of reality
\nnot easily described
\nmeanings
\nmelodies
\none or two minutes
\nwhere it all makes sense<\/p>\n

moments are
\nthe birthplace of creativity
\nand the soundtracks to festivity
\nthe piss your pants
\nkind of funny<\/p>\n

they are
\nunconditional
\nlike the cat in your lap
\npurring, comforting
\nnever a work in progress
\nbut rather
\na form of spontaneous
\nintervention<\/p>\n

moments
\nare
\nperfect
\nyet
\nfleeting
\nthey just don\u2019t seem to last
\nmostly remembered
\nin desperation<\/p>\n

like summer nights
\nhot with
\nlong drinks
\nmusic
\nand few clothes
\ngirls with skirts
\nsweat and dirt
\nroads
\ncrazy under the stars
\na swim
\nwith naked intent
\nand liquor to fuel mad ambition<\/p>\n

moments tell the story
\nof so many
\npossibilities
\nrandom
\nand
\neternal<\/p>\n

hold onto them
\nlet them
\nslow cook into your mind
\nbecause
\nthe best lives are those
\nfilled with
\nmoments
\nremember, in the end
\nno matter how hard we try
\nthe world is crazy
\nso keep them in endless supply<\/p>\n
