and so i’ve come
to the end
a full one hundred
as it were
the first and only time
with a few stragglers
misplaced, leftovers
asking for something
more
but i don’t think
i’ll see them again
it was only a season
though it seemed like years
maybe it was death
something final
with no rebirth
this time around
and
i’ve got this new shadow
next to me
same as before
and
summer is coming
